Under One Roof

Yale Architecture Ecological Living Module Design Competition, 2021

Our ELM is a round-structure that includes a central hearth and four living quarters, with a narrow corridor separating the private living space from the central kitchen of a more communal nature. While the forms and materials of the ELM look at the traditional hut of the native Maasai Tribe, the “double shell” concept focuses on the environmental performances of the living module to design a comfortable and energy efficient minimal dwelling.
