Morrisania Air Rights

Yale Architecture, 2023

Situated in South Bronx, Morrisania Air Rights is a NYCHA owned high rise. The neighborhood suffers from high heat vulnerability during summer, with its temperature higher than surroundings and lower percentage of household with ACs, and bad air quality that leads to a youth asthma rate twice as the city average. The project, with its primary goal to decarbonize the residential building, also seeks to improve
the quality of living by greenifying the facade, opening it up for more sunlight in the north, and building up balconies in the south.
